JESUS ON HOW NOT TO BE A HYPOCRITE

Text: Matthew 23:1-25

This World is not looking for perfect people just real people! In the End Times we are told: I Timothy 4:1-2

I. WE MUST MAKE OUR TALK MATCH OUR WALK

Matthew 23:2-3

Matthew 23:4, Matthew 15:7-9

III. WE MUST MAKE OUR UP REACH AND OUR OUT REACH GENUINE Matthew 23:14-15

IV. WE MUST MATCH OUR OATHS WITH OUR OBEDIENCE Matthew 23:16-17, Matthew 5: 33-37

V. WE MUST MAKE OUR SERVICE EQUAL TO OUR STEWARDSHIP Matthew 23:23-24

VI WE MUST MAKE OUR PURIFICATION EQUAL TO OUR SANCTIFICATION Matthew 23:25-28

Conclusion:

A.) Warning Signs of Becoming a Hypocrite

# 1. You find yourself judging others. Matthew 7:5

# 2. You find yourself bad mouthing others. Proverbs 11:9,

Job 8:13-15, Job 13:15-16

# 3. You make excuses for yourself on why you are not doing what the Lord tells you to do. Luke 6:46, I John 2:4

# 4. You say one thing and do other. I John 2:9 Some people who say: “Our Father” on Sunday go around the rest of the week acting like orphans.

# 5. You find that you are not faithful and consistent in attendance and service to God. I John 2:19 A hypocrite at least appreciates goodness enough to imitate it. A hypocrite never intends to be what he pretends to be. If a hypocrite stands between you and God then the hypocrite is still closer to God than you are!
