Matthew 24:15-31 THE TIME OF JACOB’S TROUBLE. Luke 21:25-28
Introduction: We continue our study of what the Bible has to say about the end of time, and the events that will take place as God completes His great plan of the ages.
Why the Tribulation? There are many but here are two:
1.To Punish the Gentile Nations. Rom. 1:18; 2 Thes. 2:12–13; Rev. 19:15.
2.To Purge the People of Israel. Eze. 20:37–38; Zech. 13:8–9; Mal. 3:3.
I. PROPHETIC DISTRESS OF NATIONS COMMENCES
In this message, Jesus tells them some of the events that will transpire during the course of the Prophetic Distress of Nations or The Time of Jacob’s Trouble or known as the Tribulation and The Great Tribulation. Last week we talked about the first half of this time. Just to recap let’s notice - The first half of the Tribulation will be a time of:
1. There Will Be Deception Matthew 24:4
2. There Will Be Division Matthew 24:6-7
3. There Will Be Disasters Matthew 24:7-8
Jesus Mentions Three Costly Calamities: Famines, Pestilence, Earthquakes
4. There Will Be Defamation Matthew 24:9, Daniel 7:25, Ezekiel 38–39,39:9
5. There Will Be Desertion Matthew 24:10
6. There Will Be Disinformation Matthew 24:11, Matthew 24:5, Revelation 6:2; Daniel 8:25, Revelation 13.
7. There Will Be Depravity Matthew 24:12
8. There Will Be Declaration Matthew 24:13-14, 2 Thes. 2:12–13, 2 Cor. 6:2; Isa. 55:6. Where do you stand?
II. PROPHETIC DISTRESS OF NATIONS CONTINUES
Matthew 24:15-29

B. The Days Will Be Terrifying Matthew 24:16-29
1. The Days Will Be Marked by Intense Persecution Matthew 24:16-20, Revelation 12:1-17
a. Many Israelites will die — Zech 13:8
b. Some will follow the Antichrist — Matt. 24:10–12; Rev. 2:9; 3:9
c. A Remnant will be saved — Rev. 12:14; Zech. 13:9

A. The Saviour’s Triumphant Appearing Matthew 24:30,

B. The Sinner’s Terrified Agonizing Matthew 24:30
Revelation 19:15-2. The Antichrist and the False Prophet will be cast alive in the Lake of Fire, and all their followers will be obliterated in an instant of time! Jesus will return, not as a meek Lamb, but as the Lion of the Tribe of Judah!
C. The Saints in The Tribulation Assembling Matthew 24:31
Conclusion: We have just touched the surface of the events of that terrible seven-year period that is to come upon the earth. It will a time more terrible than men can imagine. I just praise the Lord that the people of God do not have to fear these things. Now, the question that must be answered: Are you ready for the return of the Lord Jesus? Are you saved and sure that you will not be here for these terrible days? If not, you can be, all you need to do is to come to Jesus by faith and He will save you. If you are saved, praise the Lord! Now, go out and share Him with a world that needs to hear about Him and what He can do for their souls!
