Description

The Only Way to Heaven!
John 14:1-7
Introduction: Think of - Stepping on shore and finding it Heaven! Of taking hold of a hand and finding it God’s hand.  Of breathing a new air and finding it celestial air. Of feeling invigorated and finding it immortality. Of passing from storm to tempest to an unknown calm. Of waking up and finding it Home.  Everybody needs  three homes: A domestic home, a church home, and an eternal home. Take all the pleasures of all the spheres, and multiply each through endless years, - One minute of Heaven is worth them all.  Today I want to talk about our heavenly home.

I. Heaven Is a Prepared Place.    John 14:2  “I go to prepare a place for you...”  Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people, and they that enter shall find that they are neither unknown or unexpected

II. Heaven Has a Precious Person.   John 14:3  “I will...receive you unto Myself”  Revelation 14:13

III. Heaven Brings Perfect Peace.

Heaven Brings Perfect Peace Which Is Wrought by Faith.  John 14:1  Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.   It is not the quantity of your faith, and it is not the quality of your faith, but it is the position of your faith that will bring you to heaven.   Unbelief is not an intellectual problem that people have. It is a problem of the will and of the heart.   The gospel of Jesus Christ is gloriously simple & simply glorious.   It is so simple many people overlook it; & so free many find it hard to believe. John 3:16, John 3:36, John 14:6, Romans10:9-10,13, Ephesians 2:8-10, Revelation 22:17, ohn 14:27  The realization of the awesomeness of our Great God’s presence brings me to my knees. I fear God immensely; yet ironically, I am not afraid of Him.

IV. Heaven Is Ours Only by Way of The Plain Path. John 14:6    Jesus saith unto him, I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.   Salvation Is Not a Goal to Achieve but a Gift to Receive; Not a Performance but a Person. Jesus Christ!  (Ephesians 2:8-10)   I cannot work my soul to save that work my Lord has done, but I will work like any slave for the love of God’s dear son! Jesus is not the good way to Heaven. Jesus is not even the best way to Heaven. Jesus Is the ONLY WAY To Heaven.  Jesus is the Way, the Truth, the Life. Without the Way; there’s No Going; without the Truth there’s No Knowing; without the Life there’s No Living! You see, Jesus Is Not just a navigator pointing to The Way, Jesus Is Not just educator teaching The Truth, and Jesus is not a philosopher describing The Life: Jesus is The Way, Jesus the Truth & Jesus The Life. The rejection of Jesus Christ is the rejection of God. The rejection of God is the rejection of eternal life which results in eternal death. Acts 4:12, Romans10:13  Salvation is more than feelings or just knowing facts about Jesus. It is by an act of the will we receive Christ as our Savior. Romans 10:8-13,Romans 5:8

V. Heaven Has a Profound Purpose. John 14:3     “There ye may be also...”   II Corinthians 5:1, II Corinthians 5:8   (5:1-8), Philippians 1:21:    Philippians 1:23 - The Word “depart” (analuo) is a: 1.)  Sailor’s Term  2.) Military Term  3.) Political Term  4.) Farmer’s Term   II Timothy 4:6-8  “I am now ready to be offered,”

Conclusion:   Our main object is not to get a man into heaven, but to get heaven into him.   Heaven is a byproduct of getting Jesus into man.  This world is not looking for perfect people just people who are real. However, everyone must know; if a hypocrite is standing between you and God, then the hypocrite is still closer to God than you are.   One thing is for sure, God loves each of us/all of us, as if there were only one of us: and we cannot do anything to get God to stop loving us.  God loves all of us regardless of who we are or how we live. But God loves us far too much to leave us who we are and how we live. God wants to change us into what is best for us.  JESUS gave Himself FOR ME, SO He could give Himself TO ME, SO He could live His Life THROUGH ME.  How would our life change if we were living as if Jesus died yesterday, rose this morning, and is coming back this afternoon?
